Mark started SKuM ‘zine  in 1976 aged 14 after bumping into members of the Sex Pistols crew in Rock On record shop in Camden.  Issue #1 featured Sid Vicious’ first interview with his band The Flowers of Romance.

Mark became an early face on the UK Punk scene— getting arrested on the Pistols’ Jubilee Boat Party, designing the cartoon poster for their debut LP, and stowing- away on the Clash’s Out of Control tour.

In 1979 Mark co-produced the post-Punk poetry ‘zine All the Poets, in London and San Francisco.

FIVE YEARS (Between the Gutter and the Galaxies)  is Mark’s second poetry collection, which rips into the collision of Bowie and Primal Punk—where Rebel Rebels tore through 1974–77 Britain, spawning the Hot Tramps and theYoung Dudes who would carry Bowie’s spark forward into the chaos.

It is the precursor to Mark’s forthcoming novel / memoir of misbehaviour—The Nudniks of 1977— which delves further into his back catalogue of chaos and religious disobedience.

For this new collection, Mark collaborates with three graphic artists— Russell Hardingham @thedigitalassembly (Mr. Mens & Hey Ho!), Skye @beyondtheapplecart (Trapped on the Thames comic) and Barry McLuskie @three_of_clubs_screenpint (Front covers)— who each weave their own fierce imagination into the fabric of Mark’s Punk Poemtry.

A groisen dank also to Fiona B design for additional artwork, Stoo for layout, Yasmin Jay for stayin’ steadfast and Roual Galloway for keepin’ the faith.

There’s a handy Yinglish glossary at the end of each side – for them that don’t.
